Autumn

So, I've been unplugged for a while.  Been doing some housekeeping both literally and figuratively.  Letting go of a lot of stuff.  De-cluttering the house, changing my diet for the better, changing unhealthy habits, and re-evaluating my life in general.  I read more, spend much less time online, watch very little tv (what's worth watching anyway?) and am exercising a great deal more than I used to.  I have become very conscious of the passing of time and have resolved to spend it more wisely from now on.  Most people do this sort of thing in January, but autumn is always a time of deep renewal for me on so many levels.  After a long, hot Alabama summer which left me feeling tired and depleted, I am revived again.  We have practically lived outdoors the whole month of October, and I think that has a lot to do with my regeneration of health and spirit.  We walk everyday.  We walk for miles, and we have the most wonderful talks. heart to heart talks.  That's what inspired the little pocket pouch.  I needed a bag to carry my phone, house key, and pepper spray, and my workout pants don't have any pockets.  So, I made this little hipster pouch out of a pair of old jeans for the purpose. Other than gardening and homeschool stuff, it's the only creative thing I've done in months.  It felt really good to be making something again. After a long period of feeling 'stuck' creatively, I hope I am moving forward again.  Wish me luck  :)

Hi Starr - glad that you feel revived. I'm getting there, enjoying walking and the amazing New England autumn. Good idea, your little pocket pouch. Autumnal blessings to you!

Such lovely, lovely autumn photos!!! Good for you! We all need to "evaluate" our lives occasionally.

I didn't realize that you homeschooled!! Brings back such wonderful memories for me - I taught our four children through their freshman year of high school. It was after I finished schooling that I had my "revamping" - now I stitch a bunch and have Border Collies to train/teach!!!

Blessings for your renewal and creativity!

Hi Starr, I have been wondering where you were and it's good to see that all is well in the wonderland woods. You are so right to take a break from internet and the time you spend with your sons is so precious, all too soon they will be grown up and gone! Beautiful photos too, I'm inspired by your lovely trees, I think I might have to get my crayons out later. Big hugs xxx

so good to see you back and your lovely photos of the woods, autumn is such a wonderful time for colour. I think we could all take note and declutter and spend some time on what is happening in our lives, you might even have inspired me to take some time decluttering.

Gosh I missed your posts. Walking in nature with your boys is a terrific time to bond. Gosh, the pics are pretty...even that creepy spider. It's good to unplug. I can't quite do it, but I limit my time on line to that between 5 AM when I make sure my grandson is up for work until such time I can make noise in the house because it's time for Terry to get up. So glad you posted!!
xx, Carol

It sounds like a wonderful time away...I too have been stuck and after dealing with one more big thing this week, I am hoping to get back on track with moving, finishing outside gardening and then get going with some inside projects. I did a lot of what you talked about this past winter, and am ready to move forward slowly again....continue to enjoy your time outside...lucky you will have wonderful weather for a while.

Soooooooooooo wonderful to see you back sweets. Sometimes we all need a little time away to reevaluate what is important in life. Fall is a time for reflection and it is my most favorite time of year. I love these photos and I love your little pouch too.
Sending you light, love and hugs!

I am so very glad to see you back dear Starr, and that all is well with you and your lovely family. Unplugging is a necessary and invigorating thing, and I'm so glad it's helped. I should be following your good example in my habits, as I feel I've got very lax of late! :)The Wonderland is looking magical in its Autumn finery, and of course I love the wee pouch! Welcome back - you have been much missed!x
